How do I create a lease for a unit?

Navigate to the unit → Lease Agreements

Click Create Lease

Complete Basic Details:

  1. Lease Name (e.g., "Unit A2 - Property Name ")
  2. Select Tenant from dropdown
  3. Select Unit (pre-filled if you're creating from unit details)
  4. Start Date and End Date
  5. Occupation Date
  6. Option to mark as "Indefinite Thereafter" if no end date

Enter Financial Details:

  1. Currency (typically USD)
  2. Monthly Rent Amount
  3. Overdue Date (when rent is considered late)
  4. Overdue Percentage (penalty for late payment, e.g., 5%)
  5. Charged Deposit (amount tenant must pay upfront)
  6. Paid Deposit (how much they've already paid)
  7. Remaining Deposit (auto-calculated)
  8. Documentation Fee (if applicable)
  9. Deposit Held By (your entity name or trust account)
  10. Interest Type (if applicable)

Select Lease Template - Choose Residential or Commercial template

Upload Lease Documents (optional) - Any annexures, addendums, or ID copies

Click Save

The lease is created, linked to the tenant and unit, and appears in the Lease Agreements list. The tenant can now see this lease in their portal.
